Human Services Program C.S.B.G. (Community Services Block Grant)
The Pee Dee CAP offers many services under the Human Services Program. All programs are based on the availability of funds. These programs include a Homeless Program, a General Emergency Assistance program, a Housing and Support program and Liheap, a program that assists in heating and cooling during appropriate seasons.
Program Requirements The Human Services Program's services all require different things. One requirement that all share is that the recipients of our benefits must be of a low-income family. The Homeless Program requires that the recipients not have a permanent night-time home.
The Pee Dee CAP offers several programs underneath the Human Services Program. These programs include Homeless Program, General Emergency Assistance, Housing and Support, and LIHEAP. Each of these programs reach out to help those that need it.
The Pee Dee Community Action Partnership (GEAP) program intervenes to meet immediate needs of customers. The program will provide for emergency assistance with rent, mortgage, medical, clothing, and/or household items for emergency or disasters to maintain independent living standards.
Housing and support program will assist customers to obtain and maintain housing. The program will provide intervention with landlord and mortgage company and financial companies to obtain rural development housing loans and grants to purchase affordable housing. The agency will provide shelter to homeless customers. The agency along with tri- county housing authority as well as county officials will assist clients to obtain affordable housing. The agency will assist clients with financial counseling, housing counseling, credits repair, and referrals.
LIHEAP DA program will intervene to the low - income customers with the utility/gas bills to help them maintain independent living standards. Also energy conservation will be on households. The agency will focus on the isolated target areas to serve seniors, children under five and the vulnerable population.
LIHEAP ECIP program will intervene to the low-income customers with the utility/gas bills to help them avoid disconnection of their service to maintain independent living standards. The agency will focus on the isolated target area to serve seniors, children under five and the vulnerable population. We will also due energy conservation. The emergency will be satisfied within 24-48 hours.
